The Structured Internship Programme is a collaborative programme between the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) and TalentCorp. In this programme, companies are encouraged to provide a high quality practical learning experience through internships to students from local public and private institutions of higher education.
SIP objectives are to provide practical perspectives on the academic concept and theories that interns have studied at their University; prepare local graduates from the IPTA (Institusi Pendidikan Tinggi Awam / Public Institute of Higher Learning) and IPTS (Institusi Pendidikan Tinggi Swasta / Private Institute of Higher Learning) to become relevant to industries and ready for employment; encourage companies/industries to make internship programmes more structured in terms of their competency development; and introduce students to the working world as early as possible.Benefits
Students need to be a Malaysian citizen who is pursuing a degree programme (or equivalent*, as defined by TalentCorp) on a full-time basis in the local IPTA and IPTS.
*Refers to any programme approved by the MoHE/Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) as equivalent to a degree i.e ACCA, ICAEW. Visit www.mqa.gov.my to check on whether the programme is equivalent to a degree programme.How to Apply
